Hell's kitten

howdy non existent blog viewers,

apologies for they non existent posts in the past couple of weeks.......Ive been a very busy bee....

first things first, Ive completed a series of photos for a little company named "HUSH! SECRET GIGS"      ( had to plug...its run by me mates!) they pulled a gig together in the space of 24 hours with MC Shortie ( who was very nice ..... even if i didn't have a clue who he was....)

here's a little taster of the evening:

( excuse the lanky chap in the first picture.....apparently hes a DJ....he he)

After this amazing event we were given the all clear to shoot our new documentary "Show Girls" in Paris, and more importantly the "Moulin Rouge". Very excited!

but most disturbingly I had to dress up like this, (guess the costume):

in order to celebrate 3 people's 21st birthday bashes ( one of which had about 3 previous parties anyways!), well i think the birthday girls had a great time as by the end of the night.....one of them was looking like this:

oh dear.

In other news I took the first part of my CBT (motorbike type test) today.

(I say first part...as we ran out of time due to poor light......so i DID NOT FAIL....as some people wish to think....)

Gotta admit that I was undergoing the test so that i could ride my little 40cc moped around London. However when I got there the instructor obviously felt that that was not enough of a challenge for me, and thus presented me with a 125cc bike.....which was defiantly ALOT more fun.

As far as tests go i usually find them pretty boring, and assumed this particular test would be no different.....

wrong.

Here is a complete run down of what i had to endure and will have to continue to endure in order to gain the provisional licence:

1. the instructor took a particular liking to me..... examples include:
and
- looking at me, in a particular way that made me want to speed off into the sunset.
- ( to me) "you look like a "hell's kitten" at the moment, but I'll sure turn you into a "Hell's angel", i know some good burlesque shops...."
- ( again to me) " sure you can take your jacket off....your other bits to...."

2. A Mexican ( I think) man, with a very reveling pair of trousers. ( the instructor called him a "dick")

3. I think the instructor was a bit of a racist as he stated to an Indian chap who was also taking the test:

" You won't find any dirt tracks round here mate".

oh year i also split my trousers which prompted the instructor to come out with "well if you need me to check".

gotta say though.....I did have a really good laugh.... even if I did have to shower when I got home.....

mine was the red one.

that's all for now....oh ignore the CV section at the mo....gotta update it!

ciao!

Tulips from amsterdam

Here's some of the images I would have seen if I hadn't been editing in a hotel room all weekend.

Wasn't all doom and gloom mind, made some good contacts at the IBC and got to "smoke" without feeling guilty.

Plus our film ( and I quote); "Was one of the best I have seen showcased at the IBC". Appearing on the website soon....so i shall post a link!

Off to Thailand around January time. But before then, its all work and no play.....yey!

Happy as a clam

As the end of festival season draws to a close, i decided to rejoin my friends at reading festival...

this years reading coined a few new phrases:

- as happy as a clam

- I cant sing to dizzie rascal as im not black.

- BBQ

- Liiiiiiiiitttttttttlllllllllleeee lllllliiiiiiiiiiioooooonnnnnn mmmmmaaaaaaannnnnn

- Toliet bowl!

- I like this song it makes me hard

- tony touches kids

A sad moment of this years festival was when I had my sleeping bag swiped from my very eyes.......In order to get a new one i had to morph into a teeny tiny oliver twist and go around the festival picking up emtpy beer cups ( 10p a cup), it was something to tell the grandkids if anything.... I went to such lows that i was fishing the cups out of bins.....it paid off mind as i collected 20 quid worth of cups which made me able to buy the grand total of:

- one sleeping bag

- 3 cups of tea from the salvation army tent

- 1 beer

so in the end it was all worth it, even if my friend was subjected to comments such as "2 girls 20 cups".

And as i listen to edif piaf the words; Non, Je Ne Regrette Rein suddenly pop into my mind. Twas a good festival, I learnt some valueble bissniess lessons.......that cup is mine and ill fight anyone for it.....and made some new friends..... that ill never see again mind. Also I nearly cried during Mumford and Sons set as it was totally amazing....

amsterdam soon!

The happy Campers

itchy feet

Its time to break free from my cats....

I'm sat down on a rear day off......after wishing and wishing for ages just to be able to chill.....I'm bored as hell....

Plonked Jack Osborne adrenaline junky on..... and that show mixed with Micheal Palins trips round the world.... I have been successfully diagnosed with the travel bug.

So in full travel planning mode i have come up with the next three travel challenges.

Thailand:

Thailand will be great fun as its with the gays (influx of new lady boys to Bangkok), we are planning to hit the party island of Ko Phangan, as well as see the sights of Phuket and Bangkok as well as hitting the north (chiang mai) - nothing set in stone yet mind as we haven't thoroughly planned!

India:

Now India is a different kettle of fish as i have yet to find anyone to go with. but ya never know i may be a grown up girl and go on me tod........or maybe not....

but here's the route i plan to take, for any of you who wish to join:

Fly to new Delhi:

Kandia

Mumbai

marmagao

bangalore

pondicherry

nagpur

kanpur

then back to new Delhi

I'm hopefully planning on doing this trip after university finishes should take me around a month so If i go I'll leave end of April and return end of may around dinner time.

North America and Mexico:

After a couple of months rest and celebrating mother's half century, i have decided to undertake the big one.....dramatic i know.

I want to travel around America, as well as hitting Mexico on my way around. In regards to this trip I will probably go it alone in order to be able to get exactly what i want from it, whilst also attempting to grow up a bit before i get a job. Here's the route I am planning to take:

fly to new york then:

washington

chicago

kansas

oklahoma

houston

over the border to mexico

Monterrey

Chihuahua

hermosillo

back over to America

san diego

los angeles

san francisco

fly home all grow up.

It all sounds great now mind, but i have to pretty much spend this year finding money to fund this, whilst also trying to succour that job in media.  But however the perks of these trips will be that I'll be able to add so much to my stills portfolio whilst seeing some of the most amazing sights in the world.

BRING IT OOOON.

Right off to feed the cats....

I gotta get a job.

Baby Steps

When my mum turned 49, I instructed her to create a "Bucket List"... because lets face it....its only a matter of time....

Whilst she was hard at work (putting the kettle on), I decided to create my own list:

1. Make it through university.
2. Get a significant other.
3. Capture the most compelling and beautiful photograph ever to be captured.
4. Create the most compelling and beautiful documentary ever to be created.
5. Eat as many quarter pounders with cheese as humanly possible in one sitting.
6. learn to drive.
7. Travel the world.
8. Be more adventurous.
9. learn to speak Italian fluently ( when in Rome....)
10. Become a war time Photographer.

OK not that amazing, but anyone who puts; " Smell the perfect smell", or "look into the eyes of someone who loves me", needs to be round up and shot, before i vomit a little in my mouth. Be realistic people!

If I'm honest half of my list will never be completed, as (in the case of numbers 3 and 4) one mans beauty is another mans vomit.... but we can dream.....

Life's all about baby steps....and as as John Lennon once said:

"Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans."

Lots of things to looks forward to mind; filming in Amsterdam ( weed and hookers), reading festival (weed and muddy hookers), photography for a music video ( weed and professional hookers), university ( weed and poor hookers) and finally Thailand in January ( do i really have to say?)

Mums back with her list, shes written one thing;

1. Take car to the garage.

brilliant.
